Book Corner: Go Away Big Green Monster, by Ed Emberley

The predictable pattern and fun design make this a fun book to read together.  Pause to see if your child can fill in what new face part has appeared on each page and have them be the ones to tell the parts to “Go Away!”.  With a little encouragement, your child will gain confidence and will be “reading” this book independently.  This is also a great opportunity to talk about colors, shapes, and sizes.  You could even decorate your own green monster sugar cookies, talking about the shape and color of the candy you use for the face.
